| May 2006 | Changed the layout of the main page (there are actually two -- one called index.html, as that is required of Geocities sites, and another called welcome.html, which is more "normal" and is referenced by all the other pages in their "home" buttons.) I wanted to give the page a bit of a fresher look, and so moved the navigation buttons to the top (moving towards a "tabbed" format) and restricted the page's contents to 750 pixels (the page was starting to look a bit plain as monitors get wider and wider.) Of more substance, I've added in information that cousin Judy has developed about Ira Hues/Hughes/Huse's father, Israel Hues. She has quite a bit more information about Israel and his ancestors, indicating that we're connected to the Bodewell Huse line. Assuming this is true, then we can rely on all the research that has been done on that line, all the way back to Abel Huse who was born in London, England, and migrated to North America no later than 25 May 1663. I've also added a link to the village of Vellano, in Canton Ticino in Switzerland -- a lovely place that we've become attached to. |

Many changes, actually, since the previous log entry; I've been a bit
lazy in keeping the log up-to-date. Changes include, but not limited to:
I've finally taken the plunge and bought "Family Tree Maker", and so I plan to thoroughly revamp the site "one of these days". I first want to make sure that I don't break a bunch of external links in the process, though. |
| August 25, 2000 | Some time back, changed the "looking for" section of the home page to note that we'd located some Sorel and Alexander ancestors. This day: fixed marriage date for Lelah and Kelly Hughes; added stories to Lelah's "more" page; updated Hughes Cemetery page with additional (>60) entries and photos for most of the now-listed graves. |
| October 18, 1999 | Added general genealogical references to the "related link" page (links/other_data.html), and fixed a broken "list item" tag. |
