Curried Pork Chops

6 loin pork chops
1 (8 oz) can mushrooms, sliced, drained
1/3 c. finely chopped onion
1 or 2 Tbsp butter or margarine
2 Tbsp flour
1 1/2 teaspoons salt (less is fine)
1 tsp curry powder
1 1/2 cups milk

Trim excess fat from chops. Brown lightly on both sides in heavy frypan. Place in baking pan. Cover with mushrooms.

Cook onion in butter until tender. Stir in flour, salt, and curry powder. Gradually stir in milk. Cook, stirring constantly, until thickened. Pour over chops; cover pan. Bake in preheated 350* oven 1 hour or until chops are tender.

Yield 6 servings, 1 chop each. Goes well with rice; sauce thins during baking.
