Jesse Fox was the son of Rebecca Ann Hart and William Fox. He was an amateur photographer; he is the photographer for the two photos of members of the Dean family. Jesse lived with Rachel Hart (his grandmother) for a while, he later lived with Rebecca and William Dean. He left when he was 14. His birthdate was ca. 1884-1888; he himself was uncertain. He was married twice, the second time to Margaret Nettie Dean Swopes. They had five children.
