Willard P. Hall Hart (as he was most often known) was born February 14, 1846 in Harrison Township, Mercer County, Missouri and was named after Willard Preble Hall. When Willard Hart was named, though, they left the "P." as an initial only.

"He married 1st on December 20, 1880 in Warren County, Iowa to Mary Ann Walters (born 1860 in Whitley County, Kentucky and died January 1886 in Harrison Township, Mercer County, Missouri). He married 2nd in May, 1893 in Mercer County, Missouri to Sarah Emmoline Overton (born February 22, 1871 in Morgan Township, Mercer County, Missouri and died July 9, 1959 Mercer County, Missouri).

"Willard was a farmer and stock raiser and owned, in a 1920 Government Survey, 320 acres in sections 3 and 10 of Harrison Township, Mercer County, Missouri. He gave 20 acres to each of his children, and 100 acres to his wife -- that being the home place. He was a successful farmer and in politics a Democrat."

Willard P. Hall Hart died January 17, 1920 in Harrison Township, Mercer County, Missouri. He was the father of 11 children; 2 by Mary Ann and 9 by Sarah. He, Mary Ann and Sarah are buried in St. Paul Cemetery, across the road from St. Paul Church, in Harrison Township, Mercer County, Missouri
